Simple jQuery tab menu

Easy to use clean code navigation menus are very important for any website. Here is very simple jQuery based tab menu to hide and show different content. It uses <div> tag to separate and mark virtual pages.

html part of the menu:

<div>
<a id=”1″ href=”javascript:void(0)”>Menu 1</a> <a id=”2″ href=”javascript:void(0)”>Menu 2</a> <a id=”3″ href=”javascript:void(0)”>Menu 3</a>
</div>
<div>
<div id=”hs1″ style=”display:none”></div>
<div id=”hs2″ style=”display:none”>

</div>
<div id=”hs3″ style=”display:none”>
</div>
</div>

Javascript/jQuery part:

function tabmenu(i){
   $(“#hs”+i).show(“slow”).siblings().hide(“slow”);
}
$(“.tabmenu”).click(function() {
   tabmenu(this.id);
});
$(document).ready(function(){
   tabmenu(1);
});

And now a working example:

Simple and elegant.
